Registered Environmental Restoration Assistant - Pulling Together (District of Saanich)
Description
Take care of nature by volunteering with the Pulling Together program in Saanich Parks! Volunteers in this program enhance and maintain natural areas by: removing invasive plants, planting native plants, spreading mulch, and more. Restoration Assistants are the main “hands-on” work force at Pulling Together work parties. They work alongside and under the supervision of Lead Stewards and Saanich staff. We are now collecting applications for Spring 2024. All applicants for the Restoration Assistant role must have tried some drop-in Pulling Together sessions and be willing to make a 1-year minimum commitment to the program.
Training Details
Applicants must attend some drop-in sessions first, where a lead volunteer will orient them to the project specific to their park. All applicants who want to make a minimum 1-year commitment as a Restoration Assistant will be invited to an in-person Pulling Together orientation session as the final step in the application process. Registered Restoration Assistants will be invited to Pulling Together Learning Days and other training opportunities offered by Saanich Parks throughout the year.
