Description: Clinical Volunteer Roles

Unit Volunteers
Caring and compassionate individuals enhance the quality of care to patients and their families on our 17-bed unit at Richmond Pavilion.They help with general housekeeping on the unit,providing patient and family care and companionship. Screening and training required.

Training Details: Training takes place two evenings a week from 6pm to 9pm over 6 weeks. Volunteers are then expected to do a mentorship with an experienced volunteer and flexibility with their schedule is an asset.
The first step to volunteering is attending an information session to learn more and pick up an application.
The dates for the information sessions are as follows;
Saturday January 27th 3pm- 4pm
All the information sessions will take place in the Woodward Room of Begbie Hall at Richmond and Coronation. Begbie Hall is just south of the main Royal Jubliee Hospital Campus at 1952 Bay St.
There is no need to pre-register, simply show up.
Working Conditions: Unit volunteers can expect to be on their feet for 3 hours,and do some lifting, pulling and pushing while on shift.
Unit volunteers are expected to listen and respond to bells so good hearing is an asset.
Minimum Duration: More than 1 year
Timing: Weekday - Daytime, Weekday - Evening, Weekend - Daytime, Weekend - Evening
Time Detail: Shifts for our Clinical Unit Volunteers run 3.5 hours from 7am to 10pm everyday.
36+ hours of training is required for the role.
