Position: Recreation Volunteers
Impact Statement: The Correctional Service of Canada, as part of the criminal justice system and representing the rule of law, contributes to the protection of society by actively encouraging and assisting offenders to become law-abiding citizens, while exercising reasonable, safe, secure and humane control.
Description: Volunteers meet twice a month at a Halfway House to engage in conversation and board games with recently released federal offenders.
Training Details: Training and orientation will be provided
Working Conditions: This activity supports reintegration efforts by providing a pro-social atmosphere. Volunteers are supervised at all times. Volunteers must be 19 or older and willing to undergo a Government of Canada Security Screening.
Minimum Duration: 7 - 12 months
Timing: Anytime
Time Detail: Times are flexible. Twice a month gatherings.
