Position: Greater Victoria Public Library Teen Council Volunteers
Impact Statement: To inspire literacy, lifelong learning and community enrichment for all. To provide universal access to secure and safe library services, to foster the love of reading, and to enhance the quality of life in our community.
Description: Have your voice heard! Teen Council members earn volunteer hours and gain leadership skills by helping with projects such as the Teen Writing Contest and Friends of the Library book sales. Teen Council meets regularly throughout the school year, and members volunteer at additional library events.
Training Details: First-time volunteers, please complete the Teen Volunteer Referral Form and register for a Big Buddy Training Session. See gvpl.ca/teenvolunteers for dates, times and for more information. We provide training and, upon completion, a reference letter outlining your volunteer hours.
Working Conditions: Volunteers must be between the ages of 13 and 18.
Minimum Duration: 4 - 6 months
Timing: Weekend - Daytime, Anytime
Time Detail: 1.25 hours a day for five weekdays.
Age: 13+
