| Impact Statement | When someone needs a hand, Thrifty Foods and our dedicated team of Sendial volunteers are happy to help. Our volunteers do the order taking and shopping for customers who, because of injury, frailty or other physical reason, can’t easily get to our stores or shop independently. |
| Description | Love to talk and/or shop??!! Sendial is a grocery shopping and delivery service program for customers unable to shop in-store. Volunteers are responsible to take and shop customer orders. Please note that vacancies are not always available at specific locations, so potential candidates may be waitlisted until a position is available. |
| Training Details |
A two-hour general orientation (Zoom) is the first step. Shoppers are trained at a Thrifty Foods store. Phoners are provided role specific training (Zoom), then observe shopping in-store with shoppers. |
| Working Conditions |
Shopping volunteers select items at a Thrifty Foods store from an Order Form completed by a phoning volunteer. Order taking volunteers phone customers from home and submit orders to Thrifty Foods stores in person or by email. |
