Assistant Instructor - Victoria Therapeutic Riding Association (VTRA)
Description
The Victoria Therapeutic Riding Association provides a therapeutic riding program for children and adults with disabilities. We are looking for individuals who are interested in assisting our instructors during the delivery of lessons. This is a volunteer position that would suit someone who has taught riding, is interested in possibly teaching in the future, or anyone who wants a chance to support people with disabilities in their riding tasks! Must have horse background including grooming, tacking, and working with horses on the ground (i.e., leading). Must be willing to work with other volunteers and have an interest in learning to teach and support riders with disabilities. Interested people will be expected to start with the program as a side walker or horse handler to gain experience with how the program works.
Training Details
1 Assistant Instructor Training + 1 Emergency Procedures Training to be taken at least once a year.

Weekday - Daytime, Weekday - Evening
Time Detail
We are looking for individuals who can commit to a 4 hour shift Monday-Thursday mornings or afternoons between the months of September and June.
