| Description |
We will be removing invasive English Ivy from the beautiful forest along The University of Victoria's Alumni Chip Trail near the Bowker Creek Headwaters (near Parking Lot 10). The trail in this area runs above the underground Bowker Creek. Please RSVP on Meetup at https://www.meetup.com/greater-victoria-green-team/events/300074195/ or email Kaitlin@GreenTeamsCanada.ca if you're having trouble signing up. FLOW OF THE ACTIVITY • Meet at 9:45am for sign-in & introductions (please be on time) • Receive instruction & demo for the activity • Remove invasive plants • Take break for refreshments half way through • Volunteer until 1:00 pm then sign-out at end, take home an eco-gift! | Working Conditions | We will be working outdoors, rain or shine. Please wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty. We recommend long pants/sleeves to protect from thorny plants & insects. Remember to check the weather - bring a hat/sunscreen/rain jacket as needed. Bring your water bottle to stay hydrated (we will have extra water and snacks on site too!) |
