Victoria Global Village Society is a non-profit organization that is run by a Board of Directors. At Global Village Store, we buy our crafts from over 35 producer groups. Most of these are craft cooperatives, groups of low income people, 90% of them women, who have organized themselves to create and sell traditional crafts. Global Village Store has sold more than $2.5 million in products, and returned over 73% of the money to producers. We have one Store Manager and the rest of the work is done by volunteers. Volunteers start working as Customer Service and Cashiers and can add other responsibilities if they like, such as: director, purchaser.
