We're looking for Volunteer Drivers to support our Langford and Colwood participants. Transportation to and from medical appointments. Transportation to and from local Social Meal events. Assistance with local Grocery shopping. Meal pick up and delivery (Wednesday afternoons). Your efforts will be appreciated, and have a very positive impact on those older adults you provide these much needed services to. |
Description |
As a Volunteer Driver you will make a big difference to a senior's well being, by providing 1-4 transports per month. Week day hours. Volunteer Drivers will be reimbursed for their mileage. Current resume, 2 professional references, Application, Interview, Criminal record check, current driver's abstract, Orientation. Potential volunteer will have their own safe, reliable fully B.C. insured vehicle, with 3,000,000 liability, full current B.C. driver's license. |

Training Details | Interview, Orientation and training will be provided by Better at Home West Shore staff prior to said duties, such as Communication with those who may be hard of hearing or cognitive decline as well safe support for those who may have vision decline. Safe handling of a foldable walker. |
Working Conditions | Able to assist seniors, safely in and out of vehicle, work independent and be able to handle a lightweight, foldable walker with room to store it during transport. Self motivated, community knowledge and awareness. |

Time Detail | Monday/tuesday/wednesday/friday, between the hours of 9am-3pm. |
