Description: Support hospital visitors and patients by escorting and guiding them to where they need to go in the hospital. Walking is required for this role.
Training Details: 8 hours of online training
Attendance to a New Employee & Volunteer C.A.R.E. Orientation
Assignment Guide and Manual; Specific Program Manual
New information Desk Volunteers are assigned a Mentor, who is usually the Volunteer Team Leader or an experienced volunteer.
The two will meet with the Manager of Volunteer Resources for initial training.
Further training with a Mentor Volunteer is available if required.
Working Conditions: Volunteers are encouraged to have a 4 hour shift on weekdays/weekends
Minimum Duration: 7 - 12 months
Timing: Weekday - Daytime, Weekend - Daytime
Time Detail: Shifts are available seven days a week, and run for 4 hours with the first shift beginning at 7am and the last shift ending at 3pm. Please see website for complete list of available shifts.
