Description
Emergency Support Services (ESS) and ESS Level One volunteers are trained to respond to the immediate needs of Saanich residents affected by small or large-scale emergencies. ESS volunteers provide services to evacuees in an emergency reception centre setting during larger emergencies. ESS Level One volunteers are called out to small scale emergencies, such as dwelling fires, to assist residents on an individual basis with obtaining temporary food, shelter, clothing, information, counselling and/or family reunification. ESS team members are a dedicated group who meet monthly and receive ongoing training.
