Description
Each Mentor aged 15+ (Teen program) or 19+ (Adult program) is paired with one or two elementary-aged children (Kindergarten to Grade 5). Mentors and mentees spend one hour together once per week at their elementary school, connecting and sharing their interests. Our team provides training and support for mentors, as well as activity ideas and supplies for visits.
Training Details
Safety training before entering the schools and on-going support is provided. No experience necessary.
Working Conditions
Choose the partner elementary school that suits you: Craigflower, Brentwood Bay, George Jay, Marigold, CampusView, Quadra, Kelset, Braefoot, Brentwood Bay, Saseenos, Salt Spring, or Tillicum.

Time Detail
Volunteering takes place during elementary school hours. You'll need 1 hour per week to meet with your 'Mentee' during the school year - ideally early October to early June, but we accept applications throughout the school year. Please allow enough time for travel to the school. You will also be asked to attend an orientation session and interview at a time that is convenient for you.
