Position: Habitat Restoration Volunteer - Parks Canada National Volunteer Program
Location: Sidney Island, Southern Gulf Islands, BC, Canada
Description: As a Habitat Restoration Volunteer, you’ll be helping to preserve and protect the unique and threatened ecosystems of the Gulf Islands. Gain hands-on experience in ecosystem restoration and monitoring, enjoy the outdoors, learn about species at risk, work alongside like-minded individuals and build your resumé.

Volunteer activities vary seasonally.
Depending on the activity, tasks include:
•Carrying equipment and supplies.
•Moderate lifting, digging and use of small hand tools such as loppers.
•Cutting and pulling invasive plants from the ground; planting native plants.
Training Details: No previous experience is required. Parks Canada staff will provide you with all of the training you need when you arrive and will work with you side-by-side.
Minimum Duration: 3 months or less
Timing: Weekday - Daytime, Weekend - Daytime
Time Detail: Events run Wednesdays and some weekend days.
Age: 12+
