Mission - The Nature Trails Society connects communities by formalizing the managed access of a world class outdoor recreation network of shared use trails for all ages, abilities, and experiences. At NTS one of our primary goals is to repair and provide trails to provide access to nature for the community. Another primary goal is to protect the environment we live in. So we work hard to lead by example and educate on environmentally sustainable trail building practices. By involving the community in the process we help create stewardship and pride in our natural areas. Another important benefit of our work is the creation of green transportation infrastructure, providing the community options to travel with out the environmental impact of cement and petroleum. |
| Description |
Board and Committee members help to provide the support the society needs to operate. We need people who are passionate about nature and environmentally sustainable access to it. The society is run by a volunteer board of directors, fundraising, events, communications, and finance committee members. Over the past 8 years the society has made significant strides and has provided over 10 kilometers of non motorized, shared-use, naturally surfaced, environmentally sustainable, nature trails. Come be apart of a group that is moving forward and providing for the community while protecting the environment. |
| Training Details | The board and Executive Director will provide mentoring and support to all new members. |
| Working Conditions | The board meets monthly in one of a few boardrooms downtown and or virtually online and occasionally (optionally) attend society events. The events are generally at pubs, meeting spaces and in parks. |

| Timing | Weekday - Evening, Weekend - Daytime |
| Time Detail | We have 1 board meeting a month for 1.5 hrs, generally between 5 and 6:30 PM as well as optional events. |
