Description The Friendship Circle: A Friend-to-Friend Program=
The program goal is to empower, build resilience; provide support and community for individuals in transitional housing or newly housed; to support participants with sharing emotional connection, finding and keeping housing, obtaining and maintaining employment, and to help access and navigate services etc. Participants will be matched with a volunteer community member to meet weekly on Wed. evenings at Anawim. Twice monthly you will meet individually with a participant and twice monthly everyone will meet together as a whole and participate in group activities such as preparing and sharing meals or creative activities.
12 training hrs include info on challenges in homelessness; skill development in empathetic and respectful support, crisis response; and info on community resources.
Folks with previously lived experience with homeless, addictions and/or mental health are encouraged to become a volunteer.
Training Details  Volunteer Training will be from February 12 th - March 04th, Wedesday evenings, 4:30 – 7:30 pm at Anawim House
 The Friendship Circle Friend-to-Friend Program will meet Wednesday evenings, 4:30 – 7:30 pm and will begin Wednesday March 18th.
