Impact Statement The Victoria BC Ska & Reggae Society is a non-profit community organization of volunteers, staff & a board of directors whose main goal is to keep Victoria’s Annual Ska & Reggae Festival improving & evolving year after year. Our goal is to entertain, educate & unite audiences nationally & internationally through the artistic development of ska, reggae & other Jamaican rooted genres such as rocksteady, dub & dancehall.
All those involved in the Society have a burning passion for supporting the ska & reggae scene throughout Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland as well as Canada & the rest of the world.

Description VOLUNTEER - SITE CREW: Venue Preparation/Teardown
Venue volunteers are given the tremendous task of creating a space to hold one of the greatest music festivals in North America. This position includes some heavy lifting and a lot of moving around. The shifts for this position include hours before and after the concerts.
- Responsibilities include: zipping Zip-Ties, mounting fences, lifting and carrying items, loading and unloading cars and trucks, sweating a little (maybe), showing off your great muscles.

Training Details It is preferred and STRONGLY ADVISED that all volunteers attend a Volunteer Orientation meeting in Wednesday, June 12 from 7pm-8/8:30pm at the Victoria Curling Club, Upper Lounge to learn about volunteering with us and to meet with other volunteers and supervisors before the festival.
Working Conditions Please note: Volunteers are required to work a minimum of two shifts. After working shifts (average 6 - 8 hours each), or at Volunteer Coordinator's discretion, volunteers may be eligible for entry into performances (if they are not already scheduled to work it) depending on scheduling, availability, and capacity.
