Position Assistant SibKIDS leader - Sibshops
Impact Statement Partnering with us in our sibling group program builds healthy relationships and resilience in families that include an individual with extra support needs.
Description Encourage and empower kids living with a sibling with a significant disability. Our recreational programs for siblings provide a safe and fun place for their unique experiences to be shared with peers. Active, enthusiastic volunteers are needed to lead groups of 8-15 children aged 5-12 in games, crafts and activities.
Volunteer leaders will work alongside a trained facilitator. Experience working with children would be an asset.
Training Details Training and orientation provided by Sibshop facilitator
by appointment, 60 minutes, must be completed prior to first volunteer shift
Working Conditions Indoors and outdoors, active role. Leaders will be supervised by group facilitator at all times. Mandatory training session (90 minutes)
Minimum Duration 7 - 12 months
Timing Weekend - Daytime
Time Detail One Saturday per month for 6.5 hours (one hour prep, 5 hours program, .5 hour debrief)
