| Description |
Social Program Volunteers are reliable, welcoming and a helpful addition to Saanich recreation centres, enabling Older Adults to enjoy frequently connecting in a public space. The role is to host, or assist in hosting, weekly social drop-ins at any of our four Recreation Centres for those 55yrs+; G.R. Pearkes Recreation Centre; Gordon Head Recreation Centre, and Cedar Hill Recreation Centre (listed in order of need). Volunteers would choose a specific centre or centres to regularly host at. The host works in collaboration with the Programmer I Older Adults Services and any other volunteers at that site to facilitate Older Adults using the space for games, connection and socializing including coffee/tea and light snacks. |

. -Indoors in multi-purpose rooms/community centre spaces with a kitchen, seating and games -Operate mostly unassisted (staff is always available if needed) (leader can at times be offsite) -Sitting, standing, moving around, in close proximity to others, constantly connecting with the group |
