Impact Statement To strengthen and connect community through recreation volunteerism.
Description Throughout the year, Saanich hosts a variety of special events in the community. Whether you're preparing decorations for Autumn Lantern Fest, leading crafts at Family Arts Fest, or scooping ice cream at Strawberry Fest, you are bound to have a memorable volunteer experience at these vibrant community gatherings. Apply today to be added to our interest list for 2025! You will be notified as soon as recruitment opens for each special event.
Training Details Volunteers will receive an onsite orientation (including an event overview, health and safety considerations, location of break room/washrooms, and instructions for their role) at the beginning of their shift. Depending on the size/complexity of the event, an in-person orientation session may also be held prior to event day.
Working Conditions Typically outdoors in all weather conditions. You will be working in close proximity with others in a cheerful and bustling environment. Volunteers are usually standing and moving around for the majority of the shift, but some seated roles are available and we are always happy to try and accommodate your unique needs. Events are often held on slightly uneven (grassy) terrain.
