Impact Statement Big Brothers Big Sisters of Victoria Capital Region (BBBSV) is fully aligned with the vision and mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters Canada. Vision: All young people realize their full potential. Mission: Enable life-changing relationships to ignite the power and potential of young people. BBBSV has over 46 years of experience providing mentoring programs to communities in Greater Victoria. We have successfully provided mentors for children and youth through four different mentoring programs that respond to the identified social issues impacting the community.
Description B You: Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds is an inclusive group mentoring program
for female-identifying and gender-diverse youth, ages 9 to 15. Summer Camp groups will meet once per day for one week throughout the summer. Each day, sessions are 3 hours long. Our trained mentors guide youth through activities, games, and discussions which focus on physical and mental wellbeing, practicing self-compassion, and building healthy relationships.

Groups will occur for the following dates:

July 15-19
July 22-26
August 12-16
August 19-23

July groups will be held in Langford and August groups will be in Victoria/Jubilee area.
Training Details B You facilitators are required to attend a two-hour orientation training session (multiple dates available) as well as complete B You facilitator training and an orientation session. Facilitator training is usually held over several hours leading up to the program start dates.
Working Conditions The B You summer camp will be held in person at select locations. Mentors will be required to follow all COVID-19 protocols and health and safety procedures.
Minimum Duration 3 months or less
Timing Weekday - Daytime
Time Detail Groups will run daily from 9am-12pm, and from 1pm-4pm for one week at a time.
