Description: Volunteers participate in in-patient admissions by guiding patients and their paperwork to the appropriate waiting area elsewhere in the hospital. Volunteers shuttle between the admitting desk , clinics in the concourse and upper levels of the hospital, including surgery. Involves walking for the majority of the shift.
Training Details: 8 hours of online training

Assignment Guide and Manual; Specific Program Manual
New Placement Assistant Volunteers are assigned a Mentor, who is usually the Volunteer Team Leader or an experienced volunteer.
The two will meet with the Manager of Volunteer Resources for initial training.
Area Placement Orientation and Area training Shift with Volunteer Team Leader. Further training with Mentor Volunteer is available if required.
Working Conditions: Patient Placement Assistant Volunteers are encouraged to have a 4 hr shift on weekdays
Minimum Duration: 7 - 12 months
Timing: Weekday - Daytime
Time Detail: 9 available spots: Monday 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (x2)Tuesday 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (x2),Wednesday 7:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Wednesday 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Thursday 7:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.Friday 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (x2)
