| Description |
Volunteer advocates needed to provide support and guidance to older adults, age 55+, in the Capital Region. Most of the people we serve are low-income and/or higher needs and want to live independently in their home (either as renter or owner) for as long as possible. Services include problem-solving, system navigation (financial, housing, health care, legal), information and referral services, and support to address elder abuse and/or unexpected hardships. We collaborate extensively with other senior serving agencies. Services are provided in-person and virtually. Typically advocates meet with clients on a peer-to-peer, 1:1, basis. Advocates also meet regularly, as a team, to share experiences and ideas. We strongly encourage applicants who increase the diversity of our team and have the ability to engage diverse communities in a safe and supportive way.
