Impact Statement: Our mission is to create experiences that engage people to learn about, explore and conserve the Salish Sea Bioregion – its wildlife, waters, land, culture, and people.
Description: As an Interpreter you will greet our visitors and help them explore the habitats and marine life of the Salish Sea region inside the Centre. Your primary role is to provide information, an interactive experience and to give our guests the best visitor experience possible. No need to be an expert on marine life, we provide you with all of the training and tools you need to feel confident interacting with our visitors. It’s the knowledge and friendliness of our volunteers that inspire our visitors to return again and again.
Training Details: Volunteers are required to complete the the New Volunteer Orientation as part of their commitment. Typically this is 6 hours of training completed over 2 evenings.
Minimum Duration: 7 - 12 months
Timing: Weekday - Daytime, Weekday - Evening, Weekend - Daytime, Weekend - Evening, Anytime
Time Detail: Shifts are typically 2.5 hours and a minimum commitment of 60 hours in a year is required.
