Description Help support the full inclusion of people with disabilities in the Victoria area. Volunteers are needed to serve on our Board of Directors. Board members work with staff members to create a strategic direction for the organization. Directors must have a strong ethical framework, the ability to think strategically and a commitment to community inclusion. Experience in Board membership is an asset but not a requirement.
Training Details Potential Board members meet with the President of the Board and Executive Director to learn more about the organization. They attend 1-3 Board meetings and meet our small staff team. Once they become a member, the Executive Director provides and orientation and binder with our constitution, by-laws and other important documents.
Working Conditions The Board meets once per month in the evening at our offices at 1595 Bay St. in Victoria. There is a commitment to have some discussions via email and to serve on a committee as needed.

Timing Weekday - Evening
Time Detail The board usually meets monthly for 2 hours. There is also a requirement to communicate by email a couple of hours per month.
