Position: Gardening Volunteer - Next Steps - Gardening Volunteer

Homelessness touches many lives at a significant cost to communities. The Cool Aid Society has been a key player in the work to end homelessness in the Capital Region for decades and, with your help, is developing 360 more apartments for people who are currently homeless.
Description: Job Description:
Gardening with clients.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities: Helping to maintain current plots and helping to cultivate new garden plots. Organizing garden tools. Teaching clients how to garden.

Skills/Abilities Required:
1. Experience with gardening.
2. Enjoyment of gardening.

Skills/Abilities Optional:
1. Experience working with vulnerable adults.
Training Details: Volunteer Requirements:
1. Interview with the Cool Aid Volunteer Administrator or Program Manager.
2. Completed Cool Aid Volunteer Application.
3. Completed Consent to a Criminal Record Check for Volunteers. Paid for and completed by Cool Aid.
4. Criminal Record Clearance to work with vulnerable adults.
5. Completed Cool Aid Orientation.
6. Completed Training shift.
Working Conditions: Transitional House. Some stairs required.
Minimum Duration: 7 - 12 months
Timing: Anytime
Time Detail: 2 hours 2-4 times per month.
Age: 19+
