Position Knitting/Crochet Volunteer
Impact Statement At Cool Aid, we believe that everyone deserves home, which is why we create hope and opportunities for people who are homeless and living in poverty. We provide affordable housing, emergency shelters, primary health and dental care, nutritious meals, and wellness programs such as recreation, employment and volunteer opportunities. Our staff and volunteers help more than 12,000 people annually at 20 locations in Victoria, Saanich and Langford. We house and support more people who have been homeless in our community than any other organization. The time given to us by our volunteers is immeasurably valuable and we appreciate every moment of it.
Description Job Description:

Run a weekly Knitting and Crochet program. Teaching residents how to knit/crochet.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

Setting up, facilitating knitting and crochet projects, and cleaning up afterwards.

Skills/Abilities Required:
1. Experience with knitting and/or crochet.
2. Experience leading activities.

Skills/Abilities Optional:
1. Ability to teach knitting/crochet.
2. Experience working with vulnerable adults.
COVID-19 Vaccination Required Yes
Training Details Online orientation and training followed by in-person position specific training from staff.
Working Conditions Supportive housing sites.
Minimum Duration 4 - 6 months
Timing Anytime
Time Detail 2 hours 2-4 times per month.
