Position: Gallery of Nature Volunteer
Impact Statement: The Bateman Foundation is dedicated to helping individuals and groups interpret and appreciate the natural world around them through the lens of art. Our volunteers are vital in helping us to educate and inspire the public about the plight of the natural world and sharing our interest in introducing the public to inspirational art by Robert Bateman and others. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about our environment, and to share your love of learning and passion for our planet with visitors.
Description: Try a variety of volunteer positions every month, on your own schedule! Volunteers are required, when able, to participate in at least (3) different types of volunteerism every month, with a variety of different opportunities to choose from!

Opportunities include:

- After hours special events (between 5-9 pm) - protect our artwork, help setup, and learn from a variety of events.
- Gallery guide (docent) during open hours - orient visitors to the gallery, and help interpret and educate
- Educational Aide - Help our outdoor and in-gallery Educators with group management and delivering ideas to a variety of age groups
- Virtual Reality Help - Run our VR experience (Bateman in 360) and discuss the experience with visitors in the context of our natural world and art.
- Outreach - Postering, outdoor events operation, and spreading the world of the Bateman Foundation outside of the gallery/

Training Details: All we ask is you to bring your enthusiasm for community, nature, and art; we will do the rest!
Working Conditions: Occasional lifting up to 20lbs (not required)
Standing for 2-3 hours at a time (with breaks)

Minimum Duration: 3 months or less
Timing: Anytime
Time Detail: Minimum 3 shifts a month - around a 10-12 hour commitment/month
Age: 1+
