Position: CIBC Run for the Cure Victoria Volunteer Run Director - CIBC Run for the Cure

Description: As the Volunteer Run Director you will work closely with the past Victoria Run Director as she steps out of the role and passes the torch to a new RD for 2019.

- Through collaboration with staff and your committee, you will follow a community engagement plan and a Run event plan and will see your committee succeed in both achieving the revenue goal and creating a fun and safe event. You and your team will work together to maximize participation, drive fundraising and offset costs through sponsorship and participant fundraising.
- You will be a local ambassador for the organization in your community.
- Your leadership will ensure the Run site’s fundraising goal is top of mind by working with committee members to ensure tasks are completed in a timely and professional manner.
- You will receive the constant support of the staff at the Society who will answer your questions, provide guidance, and connect you with other Run volunteer leaders.
Training Details: You will gain and experience:

- Professional development. Training in fundraising, media relations, relationship and project management

- Contributing to the organization’s vision of creating a world where no Canadian fears cancer

- Expanding your professional and personal network

- A deeper understanding of the breast cancer journey and those affected by the disease
Minimum Duration: 4 - 6 months
Timing: Weekday - Daytime, Weekday - Evening, Weekend - Daytime, Weekend - Evening
Time Detail: Time Commitment:

- Bi weekly committee meetings from July to September
- Weekly tasks averaging 6-8 hours between both you and current RD per week
- Attendance and leadership role at pre-Run events/opportunities
- In person availability from September 28th to October 6th
- Training will be provided throughout the Run season in the form of webinars and conference calls
