Impact Statement Leadership Victoria (LV) is a community-based organization committed to developing, supporting and celebrating community leaders who help make our city great. Since 2001, we have become the go-to organization for community leadership development in Greater Victoria. Our volunteer board members, coaches, mentors, facilitators, and program partners put their collective skills and expertise to work in developing Victoria's emerging generation of leaders.
Every year, LV hosts the Victoria Community Leadership Awards (VCLAs) to highlight 10 inspirational and dedicated local community leaders.
There are a wide variety of volunteer roles available for this high-profile community event, beginning with nominations canvassing and ending with the production of the fundraising gala, tentatively set to be held in May 2022.
Description These unique and fulfilling volunteer roles offer a host of benefits to participants such as experience in the exciting field of event planning and production, networking with a host of professional and community leaders, and references for educational or academic pursuits.
POSITIONS NEEDED INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: NOMINATIONS CANVASSING AND PROCESSING; NETWORKING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS; COMMUNICATIONS, MARKETING, GRAPHIC DESIGN; EVENT SET-UP AND TEAR-DOWN; AUDIO AND VISUAL; OPERATIONS AND LOGISTICS; AND MORE! Nominations-related positions to start immediately, with several other key positions open to begin at a later date.
COVID-19 Vaccination Required Yes
Training Details Orientation to Leadership Victoria organization and its VCLA process.
Working Conditions Being part of the VCLA Planning Team and working from home with periodic Zoom and/or in-person meetings, as COVID-19 restrictions allow.
Minimum Duration 4 - 6 months
Timing Anytime
Time Detail Participation in event planning, possible procuring materials; and possible attendance at specific event.
