Position: Gift shop manager
Location: 1910 Norseman Road, North Saanich, BC, Canada
Impact Statement: -The museum is run 100% by volunteers. The two components of our mandate are to restore and display aircraft and artefacts important to the history of aviation in BC, and to maintain and strengthen relationships with our community. We have about 15,000 visitors a year. An important feature of our museum is a strong desire for our members to have fun!
Description: The museum gift shop is open every day during museum opening hours. The museum cashiers are responsible for sales from the gift shop. The role of the manager is to identify aviation-related items that will sell at various price points, order items, confirm delivery amounts, manage inventory and restock shelves. Retail experience would be very helpful but not essential.
Training Details: The retiring manager is available to assist with the transition into the position.
Working Conditions: Much of the work can be done from home. The job requirements for attendance at the museum can be fulfilled in a couple of hours a week.
Minimum Duration: More than 1 year
Timing: Anytime
Time Detail: One to two hours a week at the museum. Two to five hours a week at home.
