Impact Statement The Greater Victoria Performing Arts Festival Association is a volunteer-based organization.  We are dedicated to working with performing arts educators to develop artistic skills and a love of the performing arts for all ages and skill levels in music, dance and speech arts. 

Our annual community festival provides reputable professionals who foster inclusion, education and performance opportunity during adjudicated sessions.  We celebrate participation, achievement and excellence through a series of special concerts and an awards program.
Description As GVPAF Board President, you will lead an energetic board of directors as we plan, organize, and stage the largest performing arts festival on Vancouver Island.

Responsibilities
1. Acting as the official spokesperson and the public face of the Society.
2. Presiding as chairperson of board meetings, including our Annual General Meeting.
3. Giving general direction in all aspects of the Society, always ensuring that the activities of the Society are compatible with its purpose.
4. Overseeing the general operations of the GVPAF.
5. Preparing board meeting agendas and managing Festival correspondence.
6. Communicating regularly with and supporting all Board members and working collaboratively with the Society’s executive committee.
7. Acting as an ex-official member of all committees, including the finance committee, human resources committee, and Festival event committees.
8. Acting as a signing officer for the Society.
Training Details Training will be provided by the GVPAF Board.
Minimum Duration More than 1 year
Timing Weekday - Evening, Anytime
Time Detail The Board President is elected for a two-year term which may be renewed. The time commitment for the President is medium, about 15-25 hours per month. The President may need to travel on occasion. (Reimbursement will be given for travel expenses to events of consequential interest to the Society, as agreed by the executive committee.)
