Abbeyfield St. Peters is a warm, family-styled home where 12, fixed-income seniors have their own suite which allows them to live independently, while enabling companionship and socialization, along with providing: privacy; security; home-cooked, nutritious meals; and facilities for their personal use.

This is an opportunity for you to make a difference in the lives of our independent seniors by being part of Abbeyfield, an organization whose goal is to enrich the lives of our seniors and help them maintain their independence. You will also be providing a valuable service to a local non-profit.
Description We require a board member to join our board of directors.

This board member would be an active member of our board of directors. As an Abbeyfield St. Peters Board Member you would be expected to attend board meetings (one evening/month) as well as provide input, thoughts, ideas and vote on those suggestions put forward. You will also be asked to take on a role on the board (i.e. secretary, fund raising, special projects, etc.), depending on vacancy and your skills and strengths. This role may take up to approximately 2 hours per week but may vary depending on certain projects, you might be involved in.

Abbeyfield St. Peters is a 12 resident Independent Seniors’ Living facility.
Training Details Training would be provided by other board members, who will discuss with you your role and the mission and goal of Abbeyfield. You will also meet the residents (with covid restrictions) and the staff.
Working Conditions One board meeting per month (in the evening – this might be at Abbeyfield or on Zoom), along with additional duties based on the role you fill on the board and your schedule. Some of your duties may be performed at Abbeyfield but most can probably be performed from home or in the community (all based on role or project you are working on).
