Operating since 1993, Victoria Community Resources Society (VCRS) is a community living society dedicated to supporting individuals with diverse abilities live fulfilling, self-determined lives. We believe all people, with or without disabilities, share the human experience together and that every human being is entitled to live a good life.
VCRS is looking for like-minded people who want to make a positive contribution to the lives and communities of supported individuals! Our longstanding volunteer Board of Directors includes family members of the individuals we support, community members, and maybe you!
Description
The Board Treasurer is integral to the Board of Directors and the organization as a whole. The role provides financial oversight by reviewing and presenting budgets and financial statements, preparing financial summaries, assessing financial risks and supports the society in keeping sight of its financial forecasting.
This position is ideal for someone with a background in accounting who is interested in joining a Board of Directors for the first time! We are always looking to improve and possibly expand our services so are seeking individuals committed to learning, collaboration, and action.
Training Details
If you don't have any background in Community Living Services, we will support you in your learning. More important than your background is the initiative and energy you want to bring to the position! If you are interested in knowing more about this opportunity, please contact Brian@vcrs.ca.

The Board meets 6 times a year and committee meetings are scheduled as needed. The Board Treasurer can expect to dedicate 3-6 hours a month to the board.
