Description
Sous-Chef
Purpose of Position: To serve as second in command in the kitchen, assisting the Head Chef with any task required and also being able to completely take over command of the kitchen in case of any absences. Collaborating with the Head Chef and DLS to plan and prepare the daily meal using products provided.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Helps devise meal plans based on protein provided. Head chefs will be given at least three days notice to plan meals based on selected protein. -Helps monitor and make grocery requests as staple items deplete, by recording on the provided whiteboard. -In addition to the head chef, helping to ensure that temperatures are recorded every time in the provided time/temp log. -Assist the head chef in ensuring FOODSAFE practices and standards are met at ALL times. -Helps lead team of volunteers, ensuring that they are involved in the preparation in a meaningful way -Basic cleaning support in kitchen area
Training Details
We will provide all training on the job but applicants should be experienced with cooking for 100 or more.
