Position Mentor - Bridges for Women Mentorship Program

Impact Statement Our aim? To see all indivduals who come to us enter the workforce as financially independent, self-sufficient members of the labour market, free from the impacts of trauma and abuse that previously held them back.

The Bridges mentorship program will provide individuals impacted by trauma with the opportunity to actualize their employment, educational, and business goals in a safe and nurturing relationship.

Mentors and Mentees will be matched to provide valuable learning for both individuals, and to allow Mentees to gain relevant exposure to career possibilities through research, exploration, brainstorming, and networking, while building self-esteem and communication skills.

Responsibilities:
-foster a relationship with mentee
-connect 5-6 hours/month either virtually or in person
-provide career guidance and mentorship

Requirements and qualifications:
-you are a women or gender non-binary individual who identifies as part of the women's community
- you live in the Capital Regional District
- you can commit 5-6 hours per month over a 9 month period to a mentoring relationship.
-you are currently in the labour force or recently retired
-you can provide 2 references
Training Details After completing the interview process and reference checks you will receive a general Bridges volunteer orientation followed by more in depth mentorship training.
