Impact Statement By sharing your time, you can help seniors living in affordable housing at Chown Place maintain their gardens, stay physically and mentally active and contribute to their overall wellbeing.
Description Overview
The seniors living at Chown Place pride themselves on our beautiful gardens - the flower beds outside their individual units are overflowing with colour, and the community vegetable beds contribute to both individual and collective food security. However, many residents are getting on and need some help.
Work with individual Chown Place residents on their plots: planting, weeding, general tidying.
Assist with clearing up leaves.
Key qualities
Some gardening knowledge and experience would be great. Most of all, you'll love working with seniors and enjoy the wisdom and stories they have to share.
Training Details Training will include an orientation of Chown Place and an initial staff/resident/volunteer meeting to establish the parameters of work.
Working Conditions You'll be working outside.
Minimum Duration 3 months or less
Timing Weekday - Daytime
Age 18+
