Position Event and Outreach Coordinator - Event and Outreach
Impact Statement ElderDog Victoria is 100% volunteer-run. To carry out our work, we depend on the commitment and dedication of volunteers and the guidance of our strong leadership team.

We are looking for an organized, passionate volunteer to lead our representation at events and community outreach programs with end goals to raise awareness of ElderDog, recruit new volunteers, and raise funds to support our important work.

These could include: organization of our monthly ElderDog Walks; information booths at local markets and like-minded sponsored events; and the development and execution of a yearly outreach and events plan.
Description The ideal volunteer we are looking for is:
Experienced in event planning and execution;
Detail-oriented and highly organized;
Self motivated and creative;
Collaborative and thrives in a team environment.

Duties
As the Events and Outreach Coordinator you would:
- work in collaboration with the Pawd executive to generate ideas for outreach events;
- develop and coordinate an annual outreach and events plan;
- work with the Volunteer Coordinator to identify volunteers interested in education and outreach activities;
- coordinate event planning and individual outreach events following ElderDog’s Guidelines;
- work closely with Communications Coordinator to promote events;
- participate in Events and Outreach Coordinator meetings hosted by National Office.

Training Details Volunteers are required to complete 4 steps:

Step 1: Completion of a volunteer application. This can be found on our website: www.elderdog.ca/Volunteer.

Step 2: Completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check through your local police department. A letter from ElderDog is required and will be provided to you upon completion of step #1.

Because this is a background check for a volunteer position through a charitable organization, there is no cost to you to obtain this check.

Step 3: Submission of a photo (headshot/selfie) that will be used to create a personal ID badge.

Step 4: Attendance at a (virtual) orientation session. An invitation to upcoming sessions will be sent to you once your application form is received.
Working Conditions This position is done from home. It involves mainly telephone & email contact.

The commitment:
Varies by event. Ask is for 1-2 hours per month to organize the monthly walks and then time required to develop and execute on 2-3 events per year or as determined by you and the Pawd executive.
