Are you an organized, creative, self-motivated “people person” who loves dogs?

This is an opportunity to lead and work with other volunteers in conducting community education and outreach activities to spread the good word about ElderDog programs, recruit new volunteers and let people know how they can contribute financially to the important work that we do.
Description The Education and Outreach Coordinator:
- is a self-motivated, detail-oriented team player;
- collaborates with other members of the executive team to generate ideas for education and outreach initiatives;
- plans, coordinates and participates in education and outreach activities;
- consults with the team's Volunteer Coordinator and Dog Care Support Coordinators to identify existing volunteers who might be interested in participating in education and outreach events;
- confers with the Dog Care Support Coordinators to raise volunteer awareness about education and outreach activities and opportunities;
- collaborates with the Communications Coordinator to publicly promote the Pawd’s presence at education and outreach events;
- virtually attends Education and Outreach Coordinator meetings hosted by ElderDog Canada.

Training Details - learn with collaborative leadership team;
- mentorship from National;
- access to others who hold the same role in other Pawds;
- access to existing guidelines,processes, promotional materials etc.
Working Conditions This position is done mostly from your home. It involves mainly telephone & email contact. But there may also be hands on set up, attendance and tear down of event booths at different events.

The commitment:
Varies by event. Ideally it is the time needed to develop and execute on 2-3 events per year or as determined by you and the executive team.
