Impact Statement ElderDog is a 100% volunteer-run organization whose mandate is to support seniors who are experiencing challenges affecting the care of their canine companions. To carry out our work, we depend on the commitment and dedication of volunteers and the guidance of our strong leadership team.
We’re looking for an organized, creative,self-motivated, dog loving “people person” (or two!) to join our leadership team in this important and rewarding role.
This is an opportunity to lead and work with other volunteers in conducting community education and outreach activities to spread the good word about ElderDog programs, recruit new volunteers and let people know how they can contribute financially to the important work that we do.
Description Education and Outreach Coordinators:
 collaborate with other members of the Pawd executive team to generate ideas for education and outreach initiatives;
 plan, coordinate and participate in individual education and outreach activities;
 consult with the Pawd’s Volunteer Coordinator and Dog Care Support Coordinators to identify existing volunteers who might be interested in participating in education and outreach events;
 confer with the Dog Care Support Coordinators to raise volunteer awareness about education and outreach activities and opportunities;
 collaborate with the Communications Coordinator to publicly promote the Pawd’s presence at education and outreach events;
 virtually attend periodic Education and Outreach Coordinator meetings hosted by ElderDog Canada.
Training Details Mentoring provided by an experienced ElderDog National volunteer and ongoing support from them, from Education and Outreach Coordinators in other Pawds, and from the entire Saanich to Sidney Pawd leadership team.
Working Conditions Home based, with travel to and participation in public-facing activities.
