Description Open Archives/Archives Ajar
Exhibition dates: 13-28 November 2021

We are excited to announce that the official history of the Victoria Arts Council will be preserved through a donation of our archival materials to the University of Victoria’s Special Collections / Vancouver Island Visual Arts Holdings.

Open Archives/Archives Ajar will be a very different kind of exhibit for VAC, where we will be bringing our archival materials (promotional materials, photos, banners, organizational documents, etc) out from storage and putting them on view one last time before they are donated to UVic for research purposes.

Community members with past ties to VAC are encouraged to bring in any materials they want to donate. Volunteering during this shift will mean meeting community artists and discussing our history.

Don't worry, we'll have materials ready for you to answer any questions and as usual there will always be a staff person on shift with you.
Training Details Exhibit information is available at the volunteer table in the gallery.
