The Greater Victoria Women’s Shelter Society is a small non-profit community group with a mandate to provide supportive housing for women and their children. Our current central program is Margaret Laurence House which provides second stage housing and support for mothers and their children leaving situations of intimate partner violence. We believe that safe housing is a fundamental right. The Greater Victoria Women's Shelter Society (GVWSS) is currently seeking passionate volunteers to join our board of directors! |
| Description |
We are seeking board members who have shared values around safe housing, ending gender-based violence, consensus decision making, and understanding inequality from an intersectional, feminist perspective. We consider lived-experience as a member of an equity-seeking group, experiencing housing insecurity, or surviving intimate partner violence to be an asset.
