There are several opportunities to become involved with the museum as a volunteer, supporting one of the many activities that are available. You can bring your skills to the museum, or receive training in a new environment. Each position receives support, guidance and training where required. Description
Greet visitors, handle admissions and gift shop sales, provide information. We are looking for a person who has good interpersonal skills, some computer knowledge and previous cash experience would definitely be an asset. However it is not a requirement as all training will be provided. Being an aviation enthusiast or having worked in the industry would also be an asset, but is by no means necessary!
Training Details
Training and assistance from staff and volunteers. Support is readily available.
Working Conditions
The British Columbia Aviation Museum is currently open six days a week (closed Wednesdays), from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (summer), 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (winter). All the work is inside heated hangars, and each department has a Team Lead available for advice and direction. Volunteering at BCAM is designed to be a learning experience.
