Position Chronic Pain Program Leader - Four-day Chronic Pain Leader Training

Impact Statement The University of Victoria's Self-Management BC programs are free, evidenced-based education programs offered throughout BC for adults experiencing ongoing physical or mental health issues.
Description The University of Victoria delivers Self-Management BC Programs for persons living with chronic conditions in communities across BC. These evidence-based programs are peer-led by trained volunteers, and we are currently looking for people to lead these programs in the Victoria region. Training and support will be provided. If you are interested in becoming a leader and in helping other to live a healthier, happier life, then this training opportunity may be for you.
Training Details In-person training takes place over two weekends starting on:
Day 1: Saturday, October 19th from 10:00 to 4:00 pm
Day 2: Sunday, October 20th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
Day 3: Saturday, October 26th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, and
Day 4: Sunday, October 27th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

All training supplies will be provided. Please bring a notebook, pencil/pen/highlighter as well as a snack, beverage and/or lunch.
Working Conditions Once you have become trained as a Chronic Pain Program Leader, you will need to co-facilitate one chronic pain workshop within 12 months of the date of your training in order to become a "certified" Chronic Pain Program Leader.You will co-lead an in-person or virtual workshop which will take up approximately 3 hours of your time weekly. If you co-lead an in-person workshop, you will need to travel from your home to the workshop destination (eg.: a community centre). From that point you can co-lead another Chronic Pain workshop as your schedule permits.

Timing Weekend - Daytime
Time Detail Training will take place from 10:00 an to 4:00 pm for all four (4) days.
