Position Board Treasurer
Impact Statement Assist this vibrant community orchestra with performing music in and for the Greater Victoria area and providing musical educational opportunities in the community.
Description The Treasurer of the Board attends meetings and reports regularly on the financial status of the Orchestra. Board meetings are held once every 4-6 weeks, currently held Sunday mornings 10am - 12pm.
The Treasurer assists with budgeting and the financial aspects of grant applications. Experience with QuickBooks Online is an asset, but some training can be provided if you have a good understanding of non-profit finances. Term of service is 3 years.
Training Details Support and training provided by a very functional existing Board.
Working Conditions Mostly work from home, but must be able to attend monthly in-person meetings. Must have access to a computer and be able to use or be willing to learn the basics of Google Suite for digital resource management and communication. This includes using Google Meet for virtual meetings should they become a necessity again in the future.
Minimum Duration More than 1 year
Timing Weekend - Daytime, Anytime
Time Detail Board meetings often occur on Sunday morning or early afternoon and concerts are on Saturday afternoons or a weekday evening. See our website for exact dates, times and locations of performances. Other board work can be done at your convenience.
