* ElderDog Canada is 100% volunteer-run. We support seniors facing challenges that affect their ability to care for their beloved dogs. Sometimes dogs need temporary foster care while their human recovers from illness or injury. Other times, they need a new forever home due to a move, long-term care admission, or the passing of their person. That’s where the Rehoming Coordinator comes in. This meaningful volunteer role helps ensure every dog has a safe, loving home — whether short-term or for the rest of their days. |
| Description |
* As a Rehoming Coordinator, you will: • Recruit and screen potential foster families and adopters (review applications, check references, and conduct home visits). • Respond to inquiries about temporary fostering and permanent rehoming. • Work with Dog Care Support Coordinators to organize placements and arrange transportation. • Liaise with veterinary clinics as needed to support dog health and care. • Maintain contact with foster and adoptive families and offer ongoing support. • Follow ElderDog’s intake and placement procedures, including: keeping accurate records of rehoming activities; and submitting documentation to the ElderDog National Office. |
| Training Details |
* As part of the executive team for Saanich to Sidney ElderDog Pawd you'll work in a supportive and collaborative environment. You also receive upfront and ongoing support from the National Rehoming mentor and have access to existing tools and processes. |
| Working Conditions | Primarily work from home though occasional travel to clients homes is required. |
