Impact Statement Story Studio is an award-winning charity that inspires, educates and empowers youth to be great storytellers, transforming lives and strengthening communities. Our approach is engaging and effective and has been developed with over 11,000 youth. We create innovative, fun-focused workshops that inspire a passion for storytelling, develop important narrative and literacy skills, and encourage youth by celebrating their published work. We're particularly dedicated to reaching vulnerable and under-resourced families, those who may be facing challenges in their academic and social lives. We strive to offer as many free workshops as possible, thanks to partnerships with community organizations.
Description We're currently looking for volunteers to join us in our spring school-based StoryMaker workshops. These workshops, spanning approximately 40 classes from January to May, are an opportunity to engage students from Grades K-6 in the joy of writing and storytelling. We're on the hunt for volunteers who will work with our facilitators: you'll be the cheerleader, the coach and sometimes the scribe for these young storytellers. If you have experience with engaging youth, a fire for writing and creativity, and can commit to lending a hand regularly in the classroom, we want you on our team! (Note that a Criminal Records Check is required for this position.)
