| Description |
Come help support the Drop-in Social Program. Our group of participants are super fun, enjoy chatting and playing games, and are very social! We are looking for a volunteer to be a reliable, welcoming and helpful addition to Saanich recreation centres, enabling Older Adults to enjoy connecting in a public space. The role is to host, or assist in hosting, weekly social drop-ins at Gordon Head for those 55yrs+ on Tuesday afternoons from 12:30 - 3:15pm The host works in collaboration with the Programmer I Older Adults Services and any other volunteers at that site to facilitate Older Adults using the space for games, connection and socializing including coffee/tea and light snacks. We are able to accommodate volunteers appointments and vacations. |

. -Indoors in multi-purpose rooms/community centre spaces with a kitchen, seating and games -Operate mostly unassisted or alongside other volunteers (staff is always available if needed) (leader can at times be offsite) -Sitting, standing, moving around, in close proximity to others, constantly connecting with the group |
