Position Administrative & Communications Assistant
Impact Statement The Society supports the restoration, enhancement, and protection of Bowker Creek and its surrounding watershed and raises community awareness of the watershed.
Description The Friends of Bowker Creek Society is seeking a volunteer to support a highly active Board of Directors with various administrative and communications tasks, including: file and email management to create a more cohesive system (using Google Drive and Gmail); contact and membership database management - cleaning up records and improving records management; and supporting Board members with various communications channels (email, website, newsletter). The role would enhance organizational effectiveness, enabling us to better fulfill our mission. If interested, please contact us at friendsofbowkercreek@gmail.com.
Training Details The volunteer would work with the guidance of one of the Directors. Facility with records/spreadsheet management is essential. Familiarity with Google Drive, Gmail, and other Google applications (Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Slides) is strongly preferred. We can provide additional training.
Working Conditions Hours are flexible and would involve weekly engagement of 2-3 hours per week. The work would be mainly remote, from home, and would require having one's own computer and internet access.
