Description |
Provide one-to-one technology training for individuals who are blind or partially sighted, over a series of maximum five sessions per participant. Seeking volunteers with the following attributes and skills: - Willingness to learn and work with people with sight loss - Knowledge and experience using accessibility features on iPhones OR willingness to be trained on above features combined with an interest in technology - Trustworthy, patient, and friendly, empathetic manner - Reliable, organized and able to work with minimal supervision - Strong English language skills and ability to communicate effectively; ability to speak a second language may be an asset - Must be willing to attend ongoing training regarding new advances in technology or new teaching techniques |
Training Details | General CNIB Orientation, Sighted Guide training, and Technology training (including Voiceover or Zoom and accessibility apps) provided virtually by CNIB. |
Working Conditions |
We ask for a minimum six-month commitment to the program. A thorough background check including a Clear Police Record Check and a Vulnerable Sector Check are required. |
