Description
Volunteers will help provide a fun environment for participants ages 5.5-12 in weeklong day camps at Gordon Head Recreation Centre or Gordon Head Middle School. This role is ideal for youth aged 15+ who genuinely enjoy working with children, want to gain experience in recreation programming, and can commit to at least one full week (Monday to Friday, 8:45am - 4:00pm) during the summer. Requires a Police Information Check.
Training Details
All volunteers will complete a free Child Protection Training module (online, 30 minutes) and will receive an onsite orientation to the facility and role in advance of their first shift.
Working Conditions
Indoors and outdoors. This is a high-energy role: volunteers will standing, moving around, and playing with kids for the majority of their shift. Supervised by staff.
