Position Instrument Petting Zoo Guide - Instrument Petting Zoo at Community Fairs and Festivals

Impact Statement To spark children's interest in music and instruments.
Description Victoria Symphony is taking its popular “Instrument Petting Zoo” to community fairs and festivals around Greater Victoria June-September. We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to guide children as they try instruments for the first time. Instruments offered are violin, cello, and brass --woodwinds may also be considered. The instruments are provided by Long and McQuade.

We are looking for volunteers between ages 12-29 who are experienced in one or more orchestral instrument, and enjoy working with children.
Training Details Volunteers will be given written instructions beforehand, and in-person guidance before the event start.
Working Conditions Volunteers are working outdoors at community events. Shade and chairs are provided. In the case of heavy rain, events will be cancelled. A supervisor will be present at all times.
Minimum Duration 3 months or less

Sunday June 2: afternoon
Saturday June: 15 late morning/afternoon
Monday July 1: morning/afternoon
