Time commitments vary from half-day to multiple one-hour visits over several weeks. Volunteer opportunities are available around the province, in cities and small communities. We're Flexible.

Since 1955, British Columbia schools have relied on Junior Achievement(JA)to inspire and prepare our youth to succeed in an ever-changing global economy. This year, over 80,000 students in BC will benefit from JA programs delivered by volunteers from local business communities, who bring real-life experience into the classroom. JA programs focus on financial literacy, work readiness, entrepreneurship and, giving students the confidence and skills they need to become the next generation of business and community leaders.

Description Share your time and knowledge facilitating our 4 Hour program over several visits that introduce students to financial literacy and the basics of business, including organization, budgeting, management, marketing, and profit. Ask a friend to join you and co-facilitate together. Share your real-world business experience and knowledge with students while facilitating a ready-made lesson from JA British Columbia.
Lesson plans, classroom materials, and PowerPoint slides are provided.
Must be comfortable with public speaking and speak fluent English.
Training Details 60-90 training session provided - Virtual training
Program Guide, Student Handbook, classroom PowerPoint Presentation
Working Conditions School classroom - various participating schools. Teacher present at all times to support and oversee classroom management.
Minimum Duration 3 months or less
Timing Weekday - Daytime
Time Detail Four one-hour visits to the classroom during school hours. Visits may also be combined in some cases, e.g. two two-hour visits. Normally one or two visits per week. Schedule will be flexible.
